MIA MIYAGAMI makes split toe shoes and the bags that belong beside them. One clean idea, carried across a wardrobe, for women who would rather be noticed slowly.
Our story
We began with a shape that would not leave us alone.
The split toe is not a new idea. The tabi has been worn in Japan for centuries, first as a sock and later as a boot, divided between the big toe and the rest because that is how a foot actually moves. It arrived in fashion at the end of the 1980s and has never quite left.
Our name comes from 宮上, a Japanese surname written with the characters for shrine and above. We started MIA MIYAGAMI because that divided line deserved more than one silhouette at one price. So we build it into ballet flats, Mary Janes, loafers, mules, heels and boots, and we price them to be worn rather than saved.
What we make
One line, carried across the wardrobe.
Every shoe starts from the same divided seam and changes only where it needs to. A ballet flat stays low and soft. A Mary Jane adds a strap. A boot takes the line up the ankle. The idea holds, the shape adapts.

Woven, slouched and structured shapes in vegan leather, cut to sit beside the shoes rather than compete with them.
Worn, not saved
Priced to be reached for on an ordinary Tuesday. We would rather they live in your hallway than in a box.
Fit and wear
True to size, and easy to live with.
Our shoes run true to size with a soft, forgiving shape, so most people take their usual number. Each pair lists its full range in the size options, and if you sit between two sizes our team will tell you honestly which way to go.
Keep them away from direct heat, let them dry naturally if they get caught in the rain, and store them with a little air around them. Worn properly, a split toe only looks better with time.
